"I just want people to respect the privacy of my relatives in Taiwan ... They need to live their lives as well." -JEREMY LIN, New York Knicks point guard, speaking after the team knocked off current NBA champions the Dallas Mavericks 107–94 on Sunday; Lin scored 28 points and had a career-high 14 assists |
It’s indescribable. It’s something I’ve never seen growing up in this game. He’s a great kid. It has to inspire you. - Landry Fields, Lin’s New York Knicks teammate |
I know who he is, but I don’t really know what’s going on too much with him. I don’t even know what he’s done. Like, I have no idea what you guys are talking about. I’ll take a look at it tonight though. …. Jesus Christ. Let’s not get ahead of ourselves. - Kobe Bryant, when asked about Jeremy Lin |
Linsanity. Wow. What a run. You look at the Giants, you look at Linsanity and there’s been so many great things happening in New York. We kind of feel like we want to jump in the party. The great thing about Linsanity is that, it kind of reminds you of how fun the game should be. For some of us that have been playing for a long time, it’s just the one second you take the game for granted, it makes you realize how much fun the game is. - Alex Rodriguez, New York Yankees |
Lin is the real deal. He’s the true point guard the Knicks haven’t had in years. He’s the guy the Knicks have needed all along - Bernard King, New York Knicks Legend |
“His basketball IQ, his ability to know what play to run, what pass to make, how to run the pick-and-roll or a stutter-step to hold the defense, that’s stuff you can’t teach. He’s also got that swagger and that confidence that you need to be successful on the basketball court.” - Magic Johnson |
He was five or six days from being cut and now he is a catalyst for a team that’s playing as good as any in the NBA … You can’t ask any more of a kid coming into this situation. - Jared Jeffries on Jeremy Lin |
What I see from Jeremy and what I hear in his interviews is he appreciates everything. He pursues his dream. His attitude is so peaceful, but there is strength to him. It is not a violent strength like fire or something aggressive. It is like the ocean, very peaceful, very quiet when you look at it. But you can never underestimate the power that is in there. - Yao Ming |
Yes! I have a raging case of Linsanity. I have been declared legally Linsane. My symptoms.. linsomnia, restless linsyndrome and lintestinal blockage! - Stephen Colbert, The Colbert Report |
Don’t try to explain it, dissect it. We’re just in the middle of it and enjoy it. Especially if you are a Knick fan… It’s a great American story. A great American story. - Spike Lee, when asked about Linsanity on MSNBC |
I’ve never seen the Garden like that. Everyone keeps telling me, ‘Oh, this is what it was like in the ’90s,’ … but to actually be there and be part of it was a great feeling. - CC Sabathia, New York Yankees |
(Lin’s) not a fluke. Just the confidence he plays with, the pace, the understanding of the game. You can tell when a guy isn’t really that skilled but is just having a good stretch. This guy is skilled - Tyson Chandler on Jeremy Lin |
I knew him before he was Linmania. He’s still the same humble guy. The guy has not changed a bit, which is real special for a young man - Keith Smart, Sacramento Kings |
We should have kept [Lin]. Did not know he was this good. Anyone who says they knew misleading U. - Daryl Morey, Houston Rockets GM on Twitter |
He does what needs to be done. If they need scoring, he provides that. He’s very unselfish, once he gets inside he’s looking to pass the ball. but when there’s an opportunity to let him score he’s doing that as well. He’s just unflappable. It’s amazing that a guy has no experience, coing into the NBA been cut by 3 or 4 teams that he can fnd his niche seemingly overnight. and how he’s rejuvenated this franchise - Walt Frazier, former Knick and NBA Hall-of-Famer |
